Jon is the great-grandson of our founder, William ‘Stoney’ Jones. We owe our current rebirth to his vision and his life-long connection to the brewery. His high school and college summers were spent working ‘bottom of the barrel’ jobs around the brewery, and the smell of malt must have gotten in his veins. After a 30-year career in finance in Florida, Rhode Island, Ohio and Pittsburgh, Jon decided to act on a dream he’d had since 1988 – resurrecting Jones Brewing with Jones family members at the helm. When he’s not at the brewery, Jon is active in organizations dedicated to the future of the Mon Valley region like the Regional Trail Corporation, The Mon Valley Initiative, and the Economic Growth Connection of Westmoreland County.
John is an entrepreneur who is equally dedicated to his family, his businesses and his community. As President of LaCarte Enterprises, Inc. and LaCarte Development Company, John has built a successful group of companies. And he’s worked to make towns around the brewery stronger and more vibrant through his involvement with the Mon Valley Alliance, the Fayette County Foundation, the Charleroi Recreation Board and the Mon Valley YMCA Board of Trustees. But most of all, he’s proud of his family’s four-generation connection to Jones Brewery: from his great-grandfather, Joseph Ferrando, who hauled kegs for ‘Stoney’ Jones, to his grandmother, Emma, who babysat young Shirley Jones, to today where John joins Jon King to bring Stoney’s back to the people who love it.
